Two Detentions in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

This incident resulted in the partial closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
